The Founders
Who We Are

Jenny Tran
Managing Director and Co-Founder
Jenny began her journey in the pool community in 2020, co creating the CHAOS Pool Series, Australia’s first singles series to implement FargoRate handicaps, setting a new standard for fairness, inclusivity, and competitive structure.
In 2024, she independently built the tournament ecosystem at Celestial Billiards in Sydney, growing it into one of the city’s most in demand competitive hubs, consistently attracting 50+ players with reserve lists exceeding 30. Through the introduction of professional elements such as live commentary, shot clocks, action replays, and rack generation systems, she has elevated local tournaments to a level never seen in the region. She is also currently providing tournament design and consulting to three other major venues across Sydney, elevating tournament standards and building systems that support long-term community growth.
Beyond structure and delivery, Jenny is known for her strong connection with players, building genuine relationships across the community and creating an environment where players feel valued, heard, and part of something bigger. This player-first approach has become a defining factor in the success and reputation of her tournaments.
With over 100 tournaments delivered, Jenny is recognised as one of Australia’s leading tournament directors and has positioned Checkside Sports as a pioneer of structured competitive systems. As Managing Director and Co-Founder, she oversees operations and strategic direction, shaping the company’s long term vision of building a commercially sustainable ecosystem for pool, growing participation, increasing prize money, and positioning Oceania on the global stage.
